First Communion Instruction will be offered in September. Pastor Diehl will lead First Communion Instruction in the Parish Hall on Thursday evenings at 7:00, September 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Instruction in “First Communion” helps young children understand this Sacrament prior to receiving their first communion. Contact Pastor Diehl for more information and/or to enroll your child in this program.
Mount Calvary’s “Prayer with the Pastor” ministry begins this month. “Prayer with the Pastor” is a simple and caring ministry. Prior to Sunday morning worship (10:40 to 10:45), Pastor Diehl will meet privately in his office to pray with and for a member or family of the congregation. Each month, Roger Rudy will invite member families or individuals to “Prayer with the Pastor” and call or send a reminder message of the prayer time. If there are any questions about this ministry, please do not hesitate to speak with Pastor Diehl. If you do not wish to participate in this ministry, let Roger or the pastor know.
Any youth or adults interested in serving as an acolyte, reader, or communion assistant should contact Susan Foltz (984-4477). We welcome new participants to these opportunities to serve Christ and Mount Calvary. Training will be provided.

Creating A Member Montage for the Diehls! To help Pastor Diehl and his family get to know their Mount Calvary family, the Call/Welcome Committee is creating a “Members Montage.” For the next several Sundays, a Committee member will be in the narthex before and after the worship service to take a quick, informal picture of church members. Help out these photographers: let him/her know if you’ve not yet been snapped! Each picture will be labeled with the member’s name and placed on a poster board. This will be a great learning tool for the Diehls. (Our members can also use the montage to catch the names of fellow worshippers whom they see regularly, but might not know by name.)Taking the snapshot will only take a moment.
